I created developer setup guides for AWS to streamline new client setup, platform customization, and troubleshooting.
Getting Started, 1-Click, and Manual Setup Guides
AWS introduced a new feature that allows clients to choose their preferred setup processes within AWS Config for their cloud management environment. To support this, I developed clear, scenario-driven documentation designed to help customers distinguish between the two primary setup options: 1-Click Setup and Manual Setup. The documentation was crafted with a user-centric approach, ensuring it mirrored the UI and aligned with the customer journey. I structured the content around a strategic information architecture, making it easy for users to navigate and understand each option. This approach enabled customers to easily determine which setup process best suited their needs, whether they were seeking a quick, streamlined setup or a more customizable configuration process for their AWS resources. I worked closely with SMEs to ensure that my documentation was accurate and up to date with latest project developments.
Custom Conformance Packs
As part of our internal data metrics, our team identified a need to create more guidelines for users who are more technically proficient and prefer customizable options. One avenue for incorporating this new approach was in the AWS Conformance Packs documentation, which supplements existing documentation with guidelines for users who want to move beyond ready-made templates for predetermined cloud management scenarios and instead create their own unique configurations for their AWS applications and software settings. I analyzed existing YAML files for Custom Conformance Packs in AWS Config, working closely with the engineering and product teams to understand various customer use cases. I then developed new YAML Markup samples that addressed a broad spectrum of potential configurations. I wrote a detailed, step-by-step guide that walked users through the process of creating and deploying custom conformance packs, ensuring they understood the requirements and functionality. By incorporating tested examples based on real-world customer scenarios, I made the guide more practical and actionable. My work involved using YAML formatting as part of my explanations in the documentation, which ensured that the method of communicating the information to users matched the output they would need to create in their workflow. I used comments and templatized styling to guide them through each step of the process. I successfully ran several YAML configurations to mimic real customer scenarios, confirming the accuracy of my documentation.
AWS Managed Grafana Documentation
I played a key role in enhancing the Working with Grafana Workspace guide for AWS Managed Grafana. This included updating and creating new content that provided clear instructions for setting up and configuring Grafana workspaces in AWS. I tailored the guide to reflect AWS-specific use cases, helping users integrate AWS services seamlessly with Grafana. Additionally, I created more robust examples to clarify advanced integrations, ensuring the documentation addressed both basic and complex user scenarios. My work helped users not only set up Grafana in AWS but also optimize their workspace configurations for improved observability and monitoring. By refining these instructions, I ensured that users could leverage Grafana’s powerful visualization and monitoring capabilities in the AWS ecosystem with ease and precision.
