I compiled content for FAQs on the TikTok mobile app that educates customers about business practices and consumer protection, addressing common questions and their answers related to e-commerce product quality. These FAQs supported the official TikTok Shop Product Listing Policy and TikTok Shop Product Quality Policy, comprising part of a multi-audience approach to product quality communications. 

What can I do if the order received was not up to expectations?

​​If you receive a product that doesn't meet your expectations, such as poor quality, missing items, an empty package, the wrong product, damage, or a mismatch with the product description, you can initiate a return and refund request. Return and refund requests must be initiated within 30 days of receiving your order.

 

To request a return or refund, follow these below:

  1. Go to Orders and choose the order you want to return.

  2. Tap on Return items or Request a refund, and select your return reason from the options provided.

  3. Add images or comments as needed and tap Continue.

  4. Select your preferred return method: a drop-off location or self-arranged shipping (if available).

  5. Once the return request is accepted, you have 14 days to drop off or ship your items).

  6. Drop the item off at your chosen location, or ship it (if you selected the self-arranged method).

How do I report issues with a product or seller?

If you come across suspicious activity or questionable listings, you can report them using the in-app feature.

TikTok Shop's team will address the issue.

Our team will review your report, investigate, and address the issue. If you order a product recommended by a creator that does not match the claims made by the creator, please report them so we can address the issue.​

To report a product or seller, follow these steps:

  1. Select the product that you'd like to report

  2. Select the three dots (...) on the top right of the page.

  3. Tap Report, select the relevant reason, and include additional information where required.

  4. Tap Submit
